Daniel – the Continual Offering

ESV Romans 15: 16:- to be  a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles  in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that  the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. Companion Bible revised 1090.

Romans 15: 16:- For me to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, to minister as a priest the gospel of God, in order that the presenting of the Gentiles might be accepted, being sanctified [made holy] by the Holy Spirit.

The continual offering in Daniel.

Scripture to support the idea that this refers to the preaching and conversion of the gentiles. As the current Jews for the most part do not believe the gospel, you can see therefore  that this applies to the gentiles. (The jewish nation today awaits an opening of the gospel revelation in the Lord’s time). At some point, it is going to be impossible to preach the gospel when the abomination of desolation is unveiled – the “continual offering” shall cease for the specified duration, just as the great prophet Daniel indicates.

However, let us also consider this:-

2 Thessallonians 2:3:-

Let not anyone deceive you by any means: because that day shall not come, if not there come the defection first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition:

There is going to be some kind of apostasy/defection in the highest realms that men inhabit that will facilitate this ban on the preaching of the gospel.

It would seem likely that the abomination of desolation, the stopping of the “continual” offering and the apostasy/defection are all closely linked.

Temple wing to Ulai, 666 nautical miles (and route 37)

Here is the distance between the coordinates from the north western corner of the temple mount site in Jerusalem ( 31 46.789’N  35 14.029’E ) to a place just under a half mile due west of Susa train station ( 32 12.256’N  48 17.798’E ).

Distance from 31 46.789’N  35 14.029’E to  32 12.256’N  48 17.798’E is 666.0006 nautical miles.

How interesting is that. Now, all credit here to the much lamented David Flynn for raising this in the first place.

You have to see the beauty of it. From the  western most corner (wing?) of the temple mount (which happens to be the northwest corner) to a point just outside the eastern most edge of Shushan.

Looking up the area in google maps and the route that runs slap bang through Shushan on a NNW / SSE trajectory  is… route … 37 !!!

Check out Daniel chapter 8

Dan 8:1 In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar, a vision appeared to me, Daniel, after that which appeared to me at the first.
Dan 8:2 And I looked in the vision, and it happened when I looked that I was at Shushan, the palace, which is in the province of Elam. And in a vision I looked, and I was by the Ulai Canal.

Dan 8:16 And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of Ulai, and he called and said, Gabriel, make this one understand the vision.

The Ulai runs either side of Shushan.
