ESV Romans 15: 16:- to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. Companion Bible revised 1090.
Romans 15: 16:- For me to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, to minister as a priest the gospel of God, in order that the presenting of the Gentiles might be accepted, being sanctified [made holy] by the Holy Spirit.
The continual offering in Daniel.
Scripture to support the idea that this refers to the preaching and conversion of the gentiles. As the current Jews for the most part do not believe the gospel, you can see therefore that this applies to the gentiles. (The jewish nation today awaits an opening of the gospel revelation in the Lord’s time). At some point, it is going to be impossible to preach the gospel when the abomination of desolation is unveiled – the “continual offering” shall cease for the specified duration, just as the great prophet Daniel indicates.
However, let us also consider this:-
2 Thessallonians 2:3:-
Let not anyone deceive you by any means: because that day shall not come, if not there come the defection first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition:
There is going to be some kind of apostasy/defection in the highest realms that men inhabit that will facilitate this ban on the preaching of the gospel.
It would seem likely that the abomination of desolation, the stopping of the “continual” offering and the apostasy/defection are all closely linked.
